McMurray, Earnhardt Jr. Top Tuesday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Day two of Jackson Hewitt Preseason Thunder is in the books and Jamie McMurray and Dale Earnhardt Jr. led the way in the day's two sessions.

McMurray led the morning session with a fast lap of 184.090 mph in his Crown Royal Ford.

Mike McLaughlin, subbing for Tony Stewart in the Home Depot Chevrolet, was second quickest at 183.981 mph.

Jimmie Johnson, Ricky Rudd and Tony Raines rounded out the top five.

"I rolled in thinking, man, I won last time we were here for this race, and same time I thought, man, also the champion coming back," said Johnson.

Dale Jarrett was the fastest Toyota in the first session, turning the 14th fastest lap at 183.296 mph.

The second round included a mix of single car testing as well as drafting with Earnhardt Jr. topping the session with a lap of 186.606 mph.

Casey Mears, Raines, Reed Sorenson and Bill Elliott completed the first five.

In all, 47 cars tok part in the day's session with drivers splitting time between different machines.

Jackson Hewitt Preseason Thunder testing continues on Wednesday with another pair of morning and afternoon sessions on tap.
