Other than the 153 fantasy points Jimmie Johnson posted two weeks ago at Martinsville, Carl Edwards had the highest fantasy points week this season! The 141.2 points was icing on the cake after scoring back-to-back wins for the third time this season.
Roush Fenway's Jamie McMurray was leading the field late in the race, due to pit strategy (two tire stop). However, a risky call to conserve fuel rather than a quick splash and go was the call by McMurray's teammate Carl Edward's crew chief Bob Osborne. The call helped Edwards coast his way to victory. Fuel strategy also paid off for pole sitter Jeff Gordon as his Hendrick Motorsports #24 Dupont Chevrolet held on for second place and 91.5 fantasy points.
With the victory, Edwards assisted team Stak33, from Clanton Al, and team Terry's Raiders, from DeKalb, IL, in becoming this week's RacingOne League players of the week! A superb effort from both players who have participated in the league since the first race of the Sprint Cup season back in February.
