Kraig Kinser, son of 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser, joined Ginn Racing’s driver development program in 2005, the same season he captured the Knoxville Nationals main feature at the half-mile oval in central Iowa, the most prestigious race in sprint car racing.
In his first season with Ginn Racing, Kinser competed in two ARCA Series events, including one at Talladega Superspeedway, where he drove to victory from the pole in his U.S. Army Chevrolet. In his debut ARCA race at Michigan International Speedway, he qualified second and finished eighth.
In 2006, Kinser started 18 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events. His best finish was ninth at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Kinser’s 2007 schedule will mix things up. While continuing his Craftsman Truck Series career in a Ginn Racing partnership with Morgan Dollar Motorsports, Kinser will run a select number of Busch Series events in the No. 04 Ginn Racing Chevrolet.
The Bloomington, Ind. native was voted the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year in 2004 when he posted one victory, 17 top-five and 34 top-10 finishes in A-main feature events.
The following season he captured seven A-feature wins, including the Knoxville Nationals, 21 top-fives, 37 top 10s and finished fifth in the season-long points battle.
