Davis began his career in the NASCAR Nationwide Series on May 20, 2001 at Nazareth Speedway. He drove for Jimmy Means in the No. 52 Broadway Motors Ford. He raced in three other events during his rookie season and finished 80th in points standings.
In 2002, at 21 years old, Davis competed in 5 of 34 events and finished 67th. He only raced in three events in 2004.
2005 was Davis' best Nationwide season to-date. He raced 28 of 35 events, gained one top-10 finish (Talladega) and finished 31st in points standings.
Davis finished the 2006 season 40th in overall points and 67th in 2007. His 2008 campaign consisted of 30 starts (out of 35 races) with a 34th-place finish in final standings (second-best of his Nationwide career).
Davis will competed his eighth year in the Nationwide series during the 2009 season. He is set to drive for Jay Robinson in the No. 49 Chevrolet.
