Patrick Sheltra is a veteran of Southern and Northern Xtreme DirtCar Series (XDCS), World of Outlaw sanctioned late models, UMP late model competition, USAR Pro-Cup division and street stock competition. He won multiple feature wins in dirt late models.
Sheltra graduated from the Fast Track High Performance Driving School at Homestead Miami Speedway in 2004 and participated in multiple tests with Jeremy Clements Racing the following year before making his first ARCA RE/MAX Series start at Chicagoland Speedway in September of that year.
He finished a career-best sixth in ARCA RE/MAX Series driver points in 2008 and also finished seventh in 2007.
In only his second career start at Daytona International Speedway in 2009, Sheltra was involved in an accident that left him with a compression fracture in his fourth vertebrae. He recovered quickly and scored his first career ARCA RE/MAX Series victory in the second race that season at Salem Speedway.
