2006: Advanced to his only final round of the season on Father’s Day (Englishtown), but lost on that day for the first time in five consecutive seasons; Posted four semifinal appearances; Earned his 12th consecutive POWERade Series Top 10 points finish; Qualified a season-high second at four races, including the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals.
2005: Raced to three victories in seven final rounds; Clocked career-best elapsed time at Pomona 1; Posted three No. 1 qualifying efforts; With victory at Englishtown, won on Father’s Day for fifth consecutive time; With victory at Las Vegas 1, moved ahead of Don Garlits on all-time Top Fuel wins list; Won prestigious Mac Tools U.S. Nationals for third time; Posted 11th consecutive POWERade Series Top 10 finish; Finished second in the POWERade point standings.
2004: Earned two victories in three final round appearances; Posted 10th consecutive NHRA POWERade Series top 10 points finish; Tied legendary “Big Daddy” Don Garlits for third on all-time Top Fuel wins list with 35 career victories; Has the most wins among active Top Fuel drivers; Runner-up in the $100,000 Budweiser Shootout after gaining starting spot in bonus event via wild-card selection.
2003: Became fifth Top Fuel driver to win consecutive NHRA POWERade Top Fuel championships; became only the fourth driver in NHRA history to sweep the Western Swing; moved to fourth on Top Fuel all-time win list; clocked career-best speed which stood as national record for 15 events; won rain-delayed '02 Budweiser Shootout, which was completed at '03 season-opener.
2002: Earned first NHRA POWERade championship; Tied single-season Top Fuel record for victories with nine; Named Driver of the Year for the second quarter; Led point standings all season.
2001: Won six events in nine final round appearances; Won the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals for the second time in his career; Finished in the top 10 of the POWERade point standings for seventh consecutive season; Won the lucrative $100,000 Budweiser Shootout bonus event.
2000: Involved in a spectacular crash in the final at Memphis, which resulted in a disqualification; Qualified for all 23 national events.
1999: Became first driver to run quicker than 4.5 seconds (4.486, Houston 1).
1998: Won Pomona 1, joining his father, Larry Sr. (1970), on the Top Fuel winner’s list of the event; No. 1 qualifier at Indianapolis
1997: Runner-up in Budweiser Shootout from the No. 8 qualifying spot.
1996: Qualified for all 19 national events.
1995: Named NHRA Rookie of the Year; Became third rookie to win $100,000 Budweiser Shootout; Became first Top Fuel rookie to win at Indianapolis since Gary Beck in 1972; Set NHRA elapsed time record at Englishtown.
1994: Earned NHRA Top Fuel license with 4.76-second pass at Gainesville.
