Jay Howard joins Marty Roth in 2008 to form a two-car effort in the IndyCar Series. Howard moved up to the IndyCar Series from the Indy Pro Series, where he scored two victories and 13 top-10 finishes in 14 starts in 2006 and 2007. He captured the series' championship in 2006.
Howard's began racing go-karts at the age of seven in Britain. He was very successful at an early age with karting, winning 21 consecutive races in a junior karting division and winning three British karting titles.
He first raced professionally in Formula cars in Britain and then the United States before moving into Indy-style cars.
