A stellar performance by NASCAR's points leader, Jimmie Johnson, all but slammed the door on Carl Edward's hopes of a Sprint Cup Championship. Edwards battled late but only managed to finish fourth while Johnson came home in the first position pulling off a three-peat at Phoenix.
NASCAR's top teams were well represented in the top five at Phoenix. Four of the top five spots were occupied by eitherĀ Hendrick Motorsports (Jimmie Johnson), Penske (Kurt Busch), Roush (Edwards andĀ McMurray) or JGR (Denny Hamlin) machines with Richard Childress Racing's top finisher coming home in the seventh spot. | The top fantasy points scorer out of the four top teams was Jimmie Johnson with a stout 141.7 points.
